日本吹奏楽指導者クリニックでは、タイ出身で現在アメリカの大学で作曲博士課程に在籍されている作曲家のヴィスカモン・チャイワニッシリさんと再会することができました！

ヴィスカモン・チャイワニッシリさん（ニックネーム：コー）とは一昨年と昨年のミッドウェスト・クリニック（シカゴ）でお会いしてからの交流です。
今年のバンドクリニックに参加されると伺ったので、バンクリ2日目終了後はじっくりコーさんとお話させていただきました。

タイ-アメリカ-日本における吹奏楽シーンの情報交換は勿論のこと、楽曲・作曲に対する彼のスタンスに思わず意気投合！！いくら時間があっても足りないくらい会話に花が咲きました…！

彼の作品は本当に質が高く、タイ国内は勿論、アメリカでも多くの大学バンドやスクールバンドで頻繁に演奏されている作曲家です。
畏れ多くも、彼の作品をより多くの方々に知っていただきたく、いくつかの作品をコメント欄にてご紹介させていただきます。

At the Japan Band Clinic, I had the pleasure of reconnecting with composer Mr. Viskamol Chaiwanichsiri, who is originally from Thailand and is currently pursuing a doctoral degree in composition at a University of Missouri – Kansas City in the United States!

My connection with Mr. Viskamol Chaiwanichsiri (nickname : Khoe) began when we met at the Midwest Clinic in Chicago two years ago and again last year.
Since I heard that he would be attending this year’s Japan Band Clinic, we had the chance to spend quite a long time talking together after the second day of the event.

Not only did we exchange thoughts about the wind band scenes in Thailand, the United States, and Japan, but I also found myself deeply resonating with his perspective on music and composition. Our conversation became so lively that it felt as though no amount of time would have been enough!!!

His works are truly of outstanding quality, and he is a composer whose music is frequently performed not only throughout Thailand, but also by many university and school bands in the United States.

Though it may be presumptuous of me, I would love for more people to discover his music, so I would like to introduce several of his works in the comments section below.

3/22に札幌コンベンションセンターで行われた音楽フェスティバル「NEXT NOTE FES｣にて！
札幌出身のバンド「TRIPLANE｣さんの心温まる楽曲「ファイターズと共に」をTRIPLANEのヴォーカル、江畑兵衛さんご本人と吹奏楽とのコラボで演奏されました！

演奏してくださったアンダンテ・ウインドアンサンブルの皆さん、指揮の浦 航史さん（今回の2曲編曲の依頼者でもあります、ありがとう！！）、そして江畑兵衛さん、ありがとうございました！

北海道日本ハムファイターズの北海道移転10年目を記念したテーマソング、素敵な楽曲です！

3/22は札幌コンベンションセンターで行われた音楽フェスティバル「NEXT NOTE FES｣にて、2曲の吹奏楽編曲の初披露が行われました！

札幌出身のバンド「HAMBURGER BOYS｣さんの素敵な楽曲「北海道のうた」をアーティストご本人の方々と吹奏楽とのコラボで演奏されました！

演奏してくださった札幌地区大学吹奏楽連合バンドの皆さん、指揮の平井 直輝さん、そしてHAMBURGER BOYSの御三方、ありがとうございました！

HAMBURGER BOYSさん、R&Bやディスコ、ファンクなどを基調としたサウンドと北海道愛溢れる歌詞がクセになり、完全にファンになってしまいました…笑

先日の沖縄滞在では、航空自衛隊那覇基地に所属する第9航空団の主力戦闘機F-15の見学をさせていただく貴重な機会に恵まれました！

二名のパイロットの方々（お二人とも吹奏楽部出身とのこと！）から戦闘機・操縦に関する様々な事を教えていただき、なんとコックピットにも座らせていただくサプライズも！
幼い頃から戦闘機が大好きだったので感無量でした…！

また、南西航空方面隊司令官のもとへ表敬訪問をさせていただき、我が国の防衛に関するお話を拝聴するとともに、航空自衛隊南西航空音楽隊 委嘱作品「島影を護る翼」の作曲の機会をいただきましたことへの感謝を申し上げました。

お世話になりました皆様、ありがとうございました！

那覇での新作初演が無事に終了した次の日、3月8日(日)は「21世紀の吹奏楽 第27回“響宴”」21世紀の吹奏楽“響宴”が文京シビックホール大ホール（東京都）にて行われ、私の吹奏楽作品
《Light in the Dark》(演奏時間 11分半)
が演奏されました！

非常に繊細で素晴らしい演奏をしてくださった神奈川大学吹奏楽部の皆さん（指揮：甘粕 宏和氏）、指導してくださった本田 百花さん、田村 優弥さん、本当にありがとうございました！

ポストクラシカル、アンビエント、エレクトロニカなどの音楽ジャンルにアプローチした《Light in the Dark》、アメリカの出版社での出版を計画しております。
また、響宴のライブ音源も各種音源配信サービスにて配信されるようなので、情報が解禁された際には追ってアナウンスさせていただきます！

演奏会にお越しくださった方々、関係者の皆様、ありがとうございました！

The day after the successful premiere of my new piece in Naha, my concert band piece “Light in the Dark” (approx. 11.5 minutes) was performed on March 8 at The 27th Kyo-en: Wind Music of the 21st Century at Bunkyo Civic Hall in Tokyo.

I am deeply grateful to the wonderful musicians of the Kanagawa University Symphonic Band, conducted by Hirokazu Amakasu, and to Momoka Honda and Yuya Tamura for their guidance and support throughout the process.

“Light in the Dark” explores musical elements inspired by post-classical, ambient, and electronica. I’m currently planning its publication with a publisher in the United States.

The live recording from Kyo-en is also scheduled to be released on various streaming platforms. I will share more information once it becomes available.

先日は沖縄へ！
航空自衛隊南西航空音楽隊の委嘱を受け昨年12月に作曲させていただいた吹奏楽作品
「島影を護る翼」(演奏時間10分半)
が、3月7日(土)に那覇文化芸術劇場「なはーと」で行われた「第40回南西航空音楽隊定期演奏会｣にて初演されました！

素敵な演奏をしてくださった南西航空音楽隊の皆さん、指揮の演奏班長 大石利勝さん、お世話になりました皆様、ありがとうございました！

「島影を護る翼」は南西諸島に見られる独特の二つの音階を素材として用いており、温暖な気候や、おおらかでゆったりとした人々の気質を音楽で表現するとともに、それらを空、そして宇宙から護る航空自衛隊の姿を描いた10分半ほどの作品です。

本番の演奏音源をいただきましたので後日YouTubeにアップロード予定です！

I was commissioned by the Japan Air Self-Defense Force Southwestern Air Defense Force Band to compose “Guardians Above the Archipelago” (approx. 10 and a half minutes in length), which had its world premiere on March 7 at the Naha Cultural Arts Theater NAHArt in Okinawa during their 40th Regular Concert.

The piece draws on two unique scales from Japan’s Southwest Islands, capturing the region’s warm climate and relaxed spirit, while portraying the Air Self-Defense Force protecting the islands from the skies above.

Thanks to the fantastic concert band members and Conductor Captain Toshikatsu Oishi for bringing it to life!

昨夜は神奈川大学吹奏楽部の練習にお邪魔し、第27回“響宴”にて演奏していただく《Light in the Dark》(演奏時間 11分半)のリハーサルに立ち会いました！

ここ5年ほど傾倒しているポストクラシカル、アンビエント、エレクトロニカなどの音楽ジャンルにアプローチした吹奏楽作品を書いてみたい…と思い作曲した《Light in the Dark》ですが、甘粕 宏和氏の指揮のもと、アンサンブルの難しい作品にも関わらず大変情感豊かで素晴らしい演奏を聴かせていただき感無量でした…！

本番に向けて更にブラッシュアップを重ねられるとのこと、非常に本番が楽しみです！

Less than a week to go until the 27th Kyo-en (響宴)!

Last night, I had the pleasure of visiting the rehearsal of the Kanagawa University Symphonic Band, where I attended a run-through of Light in the Dark (approx. 11 minutes and 30 seconds), which will be performed at the 27th Kyo-en.

I composed Light in the Dark a desire to write a concert band piece that explores the musical genres I have been deeply drawn to over the past five years—post-classical, ambient, and electronica.
Under the baton of Mr. Hirokazu Amakasu, despite the ensemble challenges the piece presents, the musicians delivered an incredibly expressive and moving performance.
I was truly overwhelmed with emotion.

I understand that they will continue refining the piece further in preparation for the concert, and I am very much looking forward to the performance!

The 27th Kyo-en will take place on Sunday, March 8, at the Main Hall of Bunkyo Civic Hall (Tokyo).

皆様、旧年中は大変お世話になりありがとうございました！

2025年は母校尚美での講師業やJR東日本東京吹奏楽団の常任指揮活動に加えて、主業である作曲活動を海外へと拡大するなど、たくさんチャレンジさせていただいた1年となりました。
2026年は海外展開も含めさらにパワーアップした活動を行っていく予定です！
（既に国内外の委嘱作品作曲も控えておりワクワクが止まりません！）

Dear all, thank you for your tremendous support throughout the past year!
2025 was a year in which I expanded my composing activities overseas and took on many new challenges.
In 2026, I plan to further expand and develop my work, including my international projects.
I already have commissioned works lined up both in Japan and abroad, and I can’t contain my excitement!
