【楽曲解説】
2016年秋、友人(私と同名)の誕生日サプライズとして突発的に作曲。
当初はオーケストラ編成で作曲しましたが、後に吹奏楽編成に編曲したのがこの作品です。
私が敬愛している作曲家、ジョン・ウィリアムズやアーロン・コープランドのイディオムを用いて華やかに仕上げました。
曲は1分ほどの短い長さで、「ハッピーバースデートゥーユー」の変容した主題が2度現れ、あっという間に曲は幕を閉じます。
演奏会は勿論、サプライズで演奏して頂けたら幸いです。(難易度は高いですが…)
This is an impromptu piece that I had composed in the fall of 2016 as a birthday surprise for a friend with the same name as me.
While I had originally written it as an orchestral work, I later arranged it for the wind orchestra.
I incorporated the motifs of John Williams and Aaron Copland, two composers I deeply admire, to give the piece an elegant touch.
This short piece that is around a minute long ends in the blink of an eye after featuring two variations of the main “”Happy Birthday to You”” motif.
While this piece is quite challenging, I hope that you can perform it at a concert or as a surprise for someone close to you.
